We moved into our home in Ocean this past summer and immediately experienced a problem with our air conditioner.  We called in Alpine Air and the technician took one look at our system which was the original system that was installed when the house was built more than 20 years ago, and he recommended that we consider replacing the entire HVAC system.  I recall him telling us that unpleasant as it sounds, the heating system looked to be in even worse shape than the AC system.  Being skeptical and thinking that he was just trying to take advantage of me I told him to just repair the air conditioner.  He politely pushed back a little but ultimately acquiesced to my stubbornness.  Looking back on it now, I could tell he felt conflicted about proceeding with the repair.  He told me that he felt terrible charging me for a repair knowing that the system needed to be replaced.  Unfortunately, I didn’t listen to him, and sure enough six months later our heating unit went just as I had been warned.  I reached back out to Alpine, and the very same technician came back out.  We spent the first 15 minutes apologizing to one another – he for not being convincing enough when we first met in the summer and me for being such a block head and not listening to him.  I decided on a Daikin system, and they offered me a great price – even telling me to shop it around.  On top of that they deducted the previous charge from six months earlier from my system invoice.  What a reputable company.  I can’t recommend them highly enough.  I actually decided to go with an annual service plan and they gave me a break on that as well.  What a great company to work with.
